 In a bold affirmation of its people-first philosophy, Continental Hotels Nigeria, owners of the five-star Lagos Continental and Abuja Continental Hotels has reaffirmed its status as an industry leader in employee welfare, inclusivity, and human capital development.

Speaking recently, Cluster Director of Human Resources, Mr. Niyi Agoro unveiled a host of innovative initiatives aimed at motivating and supporting staff while fostering long-term career growth.

“We believe that happy employees create unforgettable guest experiences. The human element is central to our business,” he emphasized.

The hotel group has pioneered several firsts in Nigeria’s hospitality sector, including nursery facilities for nursing mothers, newly launched staff buses in Lagos, onsite dormitories for shift workers, and comprehensive health clinics for staff in both cities.

Employees also benefit from performance-based salary increases, buffet-style town halls, and two daily meal options—well beyond industry standards.

With less than 6 per cent annual staff turnover from 2021 to 2024, Continental Hotels Nigeria boasts one of the highest employee retention rates in the sector. “Our people stay because they feel valued,” said Agoro.
